Company Information

The Third Frontier Internship Program was established by Governor Robert Taft to help retain students in Ohio jobs after graduation. PolymerOhio is one of 17 grantees under the Program.

Although PolymerOhio supports companies in the polymer industry, the PolymerOhio Internship Program is available to any company that will employ students in science, engineering, technology, or math.

The focus of the Program is to assist students in getting practical training in their specialties and in helping students connect with potential employers.

  • The Third Frontier Internship Program offers companies the opportunity to:
  • Audition students as future employees
  • Obtain assistance in completing projects
  • Obtain fresh perspectives on on-going problems
  • Provide backup for workers on vacation
  • Support development of skilled workers for the polymer industry.
And, all of the above at only half the cost of the intern!

The PolymerOhio Internship Program will reimburse your company for half the cost of the intern up to a total of $3000 per intern. There is no limit to the number of separate internships you may have. However, a company can be reimbursed for only one internship per 12 months period for a specific intern.

Ohio companies that provide employment in science, engineering, technology, and math are eligible for Third Frontier Internships through PolymerOhio.  Click here for "Student Eligibility Guidelines."

Ohio's Third Frontier Internship Program is administered through a web site that is accessible to all qualified Ohio companies and students. Through the central site, registered companies can review resumes for all students registered statewide. In addition, all students registering in the Program have access to postings with any company registered through the 17 Grantees.

Registering is simple. Click here for "Company Registration Procedure."
