Shell has made the decision to build their long anticipated petrochemical complex in the vicinity of Monaca, PA, near Pittsburgh. Annual capacity is expected to be 3.5 billion pounds of polyethylene per year. Construction will start in late 2017 with production expected “early in the next decade.”
