Ohio Ranks 2nd in Industrial Robot Use in the US
With 20,415 industrial robots in use in 2015, Ohio ranks 2nd in the United States in the use of robots in manufacturing. That’s a 19% growth of industrial robots per year over the last five years. Much of the growth, as is shown by the clustered regions of highest robot usage in the United States, is concentrated in the Midwest and upper South due to the high concentration of auto manufacturers in those areas. Akron, however, has a much lower concentration of robots in place than the rest of Ohio. Find out more about Ohio’s concentration of industrial robots and why Akron isn’t following the same trend by reading the full article, Robots are affecting jobs in Ohio — and maybe politics, too, on limaohio.com.
