Shale Gas Projected to Have Positive Impacts on Ohio Manufacturing

Stark County, Ohio, commissioner Richard Regula is dedicated to expanding the petrochemical industry in Ohio and using shale gas to rebuild the state’s manufacturing base. Over the past six years, more than 2,400 gas wells have been drilled using hydraulic fracturing. Between that, the spinoff industries and development that may result, and the 2016 announcement from Shell that they would build an ethane cracker plant in Beaver County, Ohio, anticipation of the impact on Ohio’s manufacturing base has been steadily growing.
