Plastic consumption is increasing worldwide despite the issues regarding their impact on the environment and human health. There are a number of reasons why certain plastics may not be recyclable, and a number of reasons why their use is hugely beneficial despite that.

Kathleen Sawyer, Executive Vice President of Esterle Mold & Machine Co., has announced a major expansion to the company’s Stow, Ohio plastics facility. The additonal 30,00-square-foot facility will house a 2,600-ton injection molding machine as well as a 40-ton overhead crane.

PhilPott Solutions Group’s new CEO Jim Vaughn has big plans for the company. In addition to working tirelessly to bring the company’s plastic injection and rubber molding work back from China, Vaughn has made plans to use the 43,000-square-foot plant that PhilPott purchased in 2016 to move the company’s West Virginia chemical operations to Aurora, Ohio.

If recent trends are correct, now could be a very good time to own a polymer, plastics or specialty chemical company if you are interested in selling. According to Bill Ridenour, founder of Polymer Transaction Advisors, pricing for these companies is at the highest it’s ever been in terms of multiple earnings.

With a goal of driving awareness on the issue of ocean plastic pollution, Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G), in collaboration with recycling expert TerraCycle, has developed the Fairy Ocean Plastic bottle.
